How the Outbox Cycle Garage was born

When you have an idea in your head, sometimes it’s best to try to visualise it, so others can understand what you are talking about.

The image of the underground Outbox bike storage concept is a bit crude, but puts across the idea of a hatch in the ground. The decoration on the lid is an effort to make the product more appealing, soften its hard industrial purpose and perhaps promote its green credentials, even down to the weathered finish. The embossed/stamped leaf pattern was seen as potentially lending to the structural integrity of the lid.

If you are passing a garden and you see one of these, you’ll probably want to know what it is, hence the prominent logo. The design has moved on from this now to accommodate two bikes, with potentially different surface finishes according to location.
